Is swimming a good workout?
I want to start building up my cardio so I can get into better shape. Right now I try to walk/run 15 minutes each day or get on the elliptical. Is swimming a good workout? Is it better than running or 30-minutes on the elliptical at the gym?
Swimming is a great workout! In fact, it is one of the best cardiovascular activities you can do. The water causes a natural, low-impact resistance which works in your favor burning calories quicker, while simultaneously building muscle at without causing any stress on your joints. Win-win!
